The Oracle Exalogic SME Oracle DBA who will work closely with development support, tech support, operations, etc. in a 24x7 environment. Responsibilities include Oracle product configurations, installations, integrations, and help in architecture designs. The successful candidate will also work with the development team on a daily basis responding to ad-hocq requests, deploying changes and optimizing processes using various tools, utilities, scripts, etc. Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate a detailed knowledge of Oracle database definition, structure, documentation, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and protection strategies. Candidates must also demonstrate the ability to install and configure Oracle RAC on UNIX/Linux platforms and diagnose and resolve performance issues.
Responsibilities:
• Provide input into the Oracle elements of the database strategy, provide guidance on best practices and standards, and participate in Proof of Concepts
• Mentor other Oracle DBAs and provide in-depth troubleshooting and analysis skills for the team
• Ensure the provisioning of Oracle DBA cover, workload management and analysis of production changes
• Provide hands-on technical support for Oracle databases
• Utilize a process-oriented approach to database management (incl. change management, incident and problem management)
• Install, configure, manage and maintain multiple Oracle databases on Linux, System z, and Exadata
• Provide compute, storage, and network support for Exadata and ZFS hardware platforms
• Monitor and maintain critical hardware information for the database machine
• Perform operational procedures and support (including data modeling, replication, administration, maintenance, capacity planning, space management, and recovery)
• Perform replication, RAC configuration, OEM configuration, performance tuning and optimization (query optimization, index tuning, caching and buffer tuning)
• Perform appropriate backup, restoration, patching and upgrades of databases (including DR)
• Perform database tuning and implement performance enhancements
• Install, configure, upgrade, and manage Oracle databases
• Manage system issues, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and replication
• Configure disk storage
• Provide support for all stages of database implementation from development through QA and production
• Control access privileges and permissions with close attention to security
• Provide input on database documentation (standards, procedures, scripts)
• Monitor and improve database performance and capacity utilization to provide high database availability and redundancy.
