    The Consultant Project Manager shall assist the IT Department in the implementation and migration to the client software in the bus and rail scheduling and planning systems. The Consultant Project Manager shall have the ability to understand and implement software requirements and be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Additionally, experience in transit organization scheduling, operations, and planning is preferred for this position.
    The Consultant Project Manager shall possess project-based experience in the development of client COTS software that supports fixed-route bus and rail planning, scheduling, and daily operations through a web application with complex business rules and integration points with other client internal applications.
    The Consultant Project Manager will be the key point of contact for client during the client rail and bus upgrade projects. The Consultant Project Manager will be the subject matter expert and will be responsible for ensuring that regular dialogue is maintained through an established channel.

    Qualifications

    A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Technology, or in a related field of study;

    • Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), or Certified Construction Manager (CCM);

    • A minimum of five (5) years of experience with progressive management experience on large-scale complex projects;
    • Demonstrated ability to update and enhance documentation, while adhering to client format and style guidelines;
    • Demonstrated leadership or management experience in problem-solving projects involving cross-functional teams;
    • Demonstrated experience establishing, coordinating, and managing detailed project schedules, and other related project management documents;
    • Demonstrated ability to review content to ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality;
    • Demonstrated ability to produce technical writing documents;
    • Strong organizational skills;
    • Demonstrated ability to grasp complex software requirements;
    • Familiarity or experience supporting transit organizations to develop and establish transportation
    scheduling and operating requirement reviews;
    • Experience preparing complex deployment plans for departmental use (e.g., bus operations, rail
    operations);
    • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (e.g., MS Word, Project, Excel);
    • Ability to produce communications quickly, efficiently, and to a high standard;
    • Ability to write and communicate clearly and professionally;
    • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders;
    • Ability to pass a government background check;
    • Software development methodologies certification (such as Agile, Scrum, or Kanban certification) is highly preferred; and
    • Familiarity or knowledge of change management principles is preferred.
